The BC500T is a transmitter for the conversion of composite analogue video and two analogue audio channels into fibre optical cable. The incoming video signal is line equalised prior to FM modulation and transmission down a single optical fibre. Two separate audio channels are also filtered and presented to the optical driver. The card does not rely on a video signal for transmission and can be used as an audio only transmission system. All Bluebell cards are designed to retain maximum integrity of the signal path offering excellent jitter free optical transport. Careful attention has been paid to reduce thermal runaway, eliminating the need for forced air cooling as fan failure and overheating is the most common cause of failure in modern electronic systems.
The BC500 will also pass tri-level syncs, VITS, SIS and teletext data.
The BC500T is available in multimode, singlemode, WDM and CWDM variants to suit any fibre application.
The BC500T occupies a single slot in the BC100-3RU 19" rack-mounting frame which can hold up to 15 single slot cards. Some BC Series processing cards have dual functionality allowing up to 30 channels of video to be transmitted or received from a single 3RU frame.
Signal and card monitoring is achieved through SNMP monitoring in the BM101 network card.
Alternatively GP-Output alarms can be triggered via the BM100 module.
For stand alone applications the BC500T can be housed in an individual rugged enclosure.
The BC500Ti is a 12-Bit Composite Video Decoder with 4 x Analogue Audio Embedding and an Optical Output.

This has been designed by combining Bluebell’s well known and widely used Transmitter BC 420T and BC12ADC A to D converter. The BC 420-T and the BC 12 ADC are connected internally at the card level.
The BC500R is a receiver for the conversion of optical signals into composite composite video and two analogue audio channels. The incoming optical signal is fed to a trans-impedance and limiting amplifier before being FM demodulated and fed to a video line driver. The two separate audio channels are amplified and presented to the rear panel. The card does not rely on a video signal for transmission and can be used as an audio only transmission system. The BC500Ri is a Composite/ Component Video Optical Receiver Card with analogue audio de-embedding.
