The Bluebell Blue Box is a 4 channel multiplexer/demultiplexer that makes HD-SDI to fibre conversion over SMPTE hybrid cable possible. The Blue Box provides a compact conversion unit which allows the outputs from up to four cameras to be transmitted over a single standard SMPTE Hybrid cable.
Each signal within a Hybrid fibre has a different optical wavelength, enabling interference free transmission over longer distances. The system is available in different configurations all operating over a single SMPTE Hybrid cable link.
- Four signals can be sent from the remote or camera end to the OB Truck
- Two signals can be sent in either direction
- Three signals are sent in one direction with a reverse path monitor feed for example.
Applications have been found in many Outside Broadcast vehicles, special event companies and in pre-fibred venues.
Units can also be used in conjunction with a standard Bluebell BC100 frame.
Each Blue Box enclosure is a robust aluminium enclosure suited to the demands of constant rigging/derigging.
The Bluebell Blue Box QUAD 3G is a 4 channel multiplexer/demultiplexer that makes 3G-SDI to fibre conversion over hybrid or military tactical cable possible. The Blue Box QUAD 3G provides a compact conversion unit which allows the outputs from up to four cameras to be transmitted over a single standard hybrid or military tactical cable.
Each signal within a fibre core has a different optical wavelength, enabling interference free
transmission over longer distances. The system is available in different configurations all
operating over a single cable link.
- Four signals can be sent from the remote or camera end to the OB Truck
- Two signals can be sent in either direction
Power is provided via the PS10/XLR unit supplied with the system. The PS10/XLR has an IEC mains inlet allowing easy adoption into standard equipment bays. The QUAD 3G has a 4 pin XLR allowing power from a variety of external DC sources in the range 4.5 to 17 V.
Applications have been found in many Outside Broadcast vehicles, special event companies and in pre-fibred venues, particularly with the advent of 3D and the move to a 3G infrastructure. Units can also be used in conjunction with any standard Bluebell frame or enclosure. Each Blue Box enclosure is a robust aluminium enclosure suited to the demands of constant rigging/derigging.
The SHAX System from Bluebell has been designed to allow SD-SDI and HD-SDI broadcast cameras fitted with Standard SMPTE 304M hybrid connectors to be deployed using ordinary singlemode optical fibre.
This system allows the user to replace the fibre/copper hybrid cable between the camera and the CCU with standard fibre cable. The SHAX system is perfect for Stadiums, Arenas and Concert Halls that have pre-installed fibre networks.
Both ends of this system are enclosed in a compact, lightweight, ruggedised aluminium enclosure, ideally suited to Outside Broadcast and Fly Away applications where the camera can be powered locally.
SHAX extends the range of the camera system and releases the Operator from long lengths of bulky hybrid cable. The mating with the duplex singlemode fibre is done via standard SC, LC, ST or FC connectors.

The Bluebell PROBE is a rugged portable fibre optic system specifically designed for OB, ENG and SNG applications. It has been designed to be used as a “throw-down” box and connected to a truck via a Military Tactical Fibre Optic Cable for the ingest of news, sport and concerts in any outside broadcast environment.
The unit can be configured for almost any combination of Video, Audio and Data and multiples thereof.
A typical setup might be 2 x HD-SDI Program video feeds, Black and
Burst Genlock and RS232 Control for connection to a remote camera
head.
The unit can be supplied with any type of fibre optic connector to suit the application including SMPTE 311 Hybrid Cables, Hermaphroditic or standard SC, FC connectors.
Applications have been found with many Outside Broadcast vehicles,
special event companies and in pre-fibred venues.
Each unit offers a user friendly interface and can be powered with
mains or from a 12V d.c. battery pack with low power consumption
ensuring long life.
Units can also be used in conjunction with standard Bluebell BC100
frames, Blueboxes or BC320 Racketeers.
The BC323T is a transmitter module for the conversion of two independent 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI and ASI signals into fibre optical cable. Each incoming signal is auto-sensed and then equalised and reclocked prior to conversion and transmission down a separate single optical fibre.
Each BC323T is housed in a compact robust enclosure and is designed for Outside Broadcast and special events as well as Studios. Power is provided via the PS10/XLR unit supplied with the system. The PS10/XLR has an IEC mains inlet allowing easy adoption into standard equipment bays.
The BC323T has a 4 pin XLR allowing power from a variety of external DC sources in the range 4.5 to 17 V.
The BC323s are extremely compact dual channel fibre optic converters that are perfectly suited to provide interference free transmission and for extending the range of electrical signals, particularly HD-SDI and 3G-SDI signals.
Each channel can operate in non-reclocking mode and handles data rates from 50 Mb/s to 3 Gb/s.
The BC323T is available in singlemode, WDM and CWDM variants to suit any fibre application.
The BC323T can also be used to interface to any of the standard Bluebell enclosures.
The BC323R is a receiver for the conversion of two independent optical signals into electrical 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI and ASI. The incoming optical signal is fed to a trans-impedance and limiting amplifier before being electrically reclocked on the outputs.
Each BC323R is housed in a compact robust enclosure and is designed for Outside Broadcast and special events as well as Studios. Power is provided via the PS10/XLR unit supplied with the system. The PS10/XLR has an IEC mains inlet allowing easy adoption into standard equipment bays. The BC323R has a 4 pin XLR allowing power from a variety of external DC sources in the range 4.5 to 17 V.

The new TDM-700 system is designed to provide a compact, rugged and cost effective optical link between a remote POV (Point of View) Camera and an OB van or Control Room.
The link provides an HD/SD-SDI feed from the camera and a reverse composite video feed for genlock or monitoring plus bi-directional RS232 and RS422 data for full control of the POV.
A 10/100 BaseT Ethernet link is provided to allow control of IP based devices while a GPI path can be used to drive a tally light. All signals are multiplexed and transported over two fibres for easy installation or field deployment.
The TDM-700CE remote camera end is supplied in a compact aluminium enclosure with a choice of connectors to suit both Studio and Outside Broadcast applications.
The TDM-700B base unit fits in a single slot of the standard Bluebell 19” rack frame allowing multiple cameras to feed into a central control room or truck.
Alternatively, the remote camera end can also be supplied in standard BC Series card format for cost effective transport of HD and data in a studio or flyaway environment.
TDM-700 links are available in singlemode, WDM and CWDM variants to suit any fibre application.
